Answer: Polarization blocks reflected light waves, thus greatly reducing glare. This can be important for driving and is just all around more comfortable. Vegetation looks more vivd and colorful. Also, polarized glasses block most UV rays like good regular sunglasses.
Q: What is the difference between a polarized lens and one that is not polarized?
Answer: A polarized lens filter scatters and reflects light. Looking at wate with a standard lens, the surface of the water is reflecting light from all different directions making is difficult to clearly see an object under water. By polarizing the light, those reflected rays allow you to see below the surface of the water.
